Had Rahul Gandhi consulted any Kashmiri Hindus in Congress about the alliance with JKNC he would have become aware of the national impact of the alliance, including the immediate negative fallout on Haryana. The latest victim of Rahul Gandhi's short-sighted policy is the Haryana Congress. The alliance will also have a negative impact on other states facing elections. Rahul Gandhi's coterie lacks any strategic thinker.
Alliance with National Conference has been perceived as being sympathetic to soft separatists and against the national interest. Haryana sends a lot of men into the Army and para-military forces like BSF and CRPF. There is not a single single assembly constituency in Haryana that has not lost its young men to the violence in Kashmir. The impression created by the alliance is that Congress does not value the sacrifices of these bravehearts. Congress will pay a heavy price of this folly in forthcoming elections as well.
